70th Happy Independence Day 2016, Independence Day India Celebration– Everyone wants to lead an independent life, who doesn’t? And Indians were not exception indeed. Finally, the day came at the cost of plenty of lives and streams of blood of different hidden faces. It is undeniable fact that a large group of budding talents has scarified their lives to make India independent from the British Empire and to realize others the true essence of free India. Ultimately, India managed to break the manacles of imperialistic force of British rulers, all thanks to the perseverance and commitments made by the freedom fighters and the blessings of Indians. So, to evoke and honor the old glory story of freedom fighters and their struggles India celebrates 15th of August as Independence Day every year. And this day was declared as Independence Day since they saw the light of real independence for the first time in 1947.
15th August 2016, Monday is the day when India will be celebrating its 70th Independence Day to memorialize its independence from British Rule and it is the day when India was declared as sovereign nation.
On Independence Day Indians pay their tribute to the freedom fighters and leaders who fought to make India a free and sovereign nation. This is the day which is declared as gazetted holiday and all major government buildings are illumined with lights, candles and tricolor flutters. President of India delivers a speech to “Address to the Nation” on the evening of the Independence Day. The Prime Minister of India hosts the tricolor at the red fort which is followed by cultural programs at the capital of India where most of the organizations, Indian army, Indian navy and schools participate.
Story of Independence Day is really very painful as it involved lost of sacrifices due to which India managed to free herself from the fetters of British Empire on the eve of 15th August 1947. It is the story of never-ending struggles of thousands faceless freedom fighters who united the inhabitants to stand against the British for their freedom.
The story of Independence Day started with the munity of 1857 that actually led to the ending of East India Company Rule, the creation of INC (Indian national Congress), the Non-Cooperation Movement, Jalianwala Bagh Massacre, Simon Commission, Civil Disobedience and ultimate Quit India Movement led by Mahatma Gandhi in 1942. The story ended with the partition of India which created two new nations, called Pakistan and Bangladesh. The story independence is too long, but the only weapons used to battle against the British Empire were Non Violence and Truth.
The history of 70th Independence Day actually started in the year 1857 with the Sepoy Munity in Meerut, India. Later in 20th century, under the guidance and hardship of Mahatma Gandhi, the INC and other political companies commenced nationwide independence movement and finally on 15th August 1947 the colonial powers were given back to The Constituent Assembly and India was declared independent and sovereign nation at 11pm on 14th August, 1947. So, India became free nation and gained its liberty at the midnight between 14th and 15th August 1947 and the first Prime Minister of free India was Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru who gave his “Tryst with Destiny” Speech to the nation and celebrated India’s Independence Day.
